Appliance cover

Vacuum cleaner cover

The suction goes, and it starts pushing dirt around instead of lifting it.

Vacuums are the cheapest thing on this list to fix and the easiest to write off too early. Motors and brush bars are usually worth replacing on a decent machine.

What actually goes wrong

The parts that fail, and what they cost.

Typical UK parts-and-labour figures for a single repair. On a plan, every one of these is already covered. Off one, it’s the bill.

  • Suction motor

Loud, hot, and barely lifting anything.

    £110–£195

  • Battery pack (cordless)

Four minutes of run time from a full charge.

    £90–£170

  • Brush bar & motor

    Roller stopped turning on carpet.

    £70–£130

  • Control board

Cuts out, or won't power on at all.

    £80–£150

  • Hose assembly

Split hose, suction lost at the handle.

    £45–£90

Figures are typical, not a quote. Your plan covers the repair whatever the fault turns out to be.

What the plan does

What cover actually gets you.

Unlimited callouts

Report as many separate faults as you need to during your plan year. There's no cap on how many times you can call us out.

Parts and labour together

One monthly figure covers the engineer's time and the parts they fit. You don't get a second bill after the visit.

Replacement if it can't be repaired

If our engineer decides your appliance can't be economically repaired, we replace it rather than leaving you with a dead machine.

Mechanical and electrical breakdown

Both sides of a failure are covered: the moving parts that wear out and the electronics that stop talking to them.

A UK helpdesk

You speak to someone in the UK who can see your plan and book the engineer on the same call.

Discounts when you upgrade

If you decide to replace an appliance yourself rather than repair it, we'll put our trade discount towards the new one.

Before you buy

What vacuum cleanercover won’t do.

The same exclusions apply to every appliance, and you shouldn’t have to go looking for them, so here they are.

Anything that breaks in your first 60 days

Each appliance has a 60-day waiting period from the day it's added to your plan before you can book a repair on it, and a breakdown in that window isn't covered. It stops people signing up with a machine that's already broken, which is what keeps the price where it is. If something fails during those 60 days, call us anyway, and we'll quote you for a one-off repair at our normal rate. This is separate from your 14-day right to cancel.

A fault that was already there

If the appliance was faulty, noisy, leaking or intermittent before you took cover out, that fault isn't covered. Cover is for things that go wrong after you're on the plan, not things that already have.

Scratches, dents and marks

Cosmetic damage isn't covered. If the door is scuffed but the machine works, that's not a breakdown. Handles, trims and fascias are only covered when the appliance won't function without them.

Accidental damage and misuse

Dropping it, overloading it, running it without water, putting the wrong thing through it. If the failure was caused rather than worn, it isn't a breakdown.

Bad installation

Transit bolts left in, no earth, an unvented dryer in a sealed cupboard, a waste pipe plumbed uphill. If the appliance failed because of how it was fitted, that's a job for whoever fitted it.

Consumables and routine maintenance

Filters, bags, belts on vacuum brush bars, bulbs, shelves, seals you're meant to wipe, descaling, cleaning a blocked pump of coins and hair grips. Wear items and upkeep are yours.
