About us

Who we are,
and how we work.

Fix It Homecare repairs and replaces the appliances a home runs on, for one regular price, and does one-off repairs for anyone who needs one. Despite the name, we’re not a care agency: the ‘homecare’ is for your appliances.

What we do

Cover plans and one-off repairs, for eight everyday appliances.

Appliance cover plans

For washing machines, ovens, fridge freezers, dishwashers, tumble dryers, hobs, microwaves and vacuum cleaners: up to 9 appliances on one plan, from £9.99 a month. We repair them when they break down, and replace them if they can’t be repaired.

Fix It Homecare plans are extended cover plans for domestic appliances: a service agreement to repair or replace. They are not insurance policies and not a warranty.

What a plan includes

One-off repairs

For anyone, with or without a plan. You get a price before an engineer is booked, advice over the phone is free, and if we think the appliance isn’t worth repairing, we’ll say so before you spend anything.

Book a repair

We work in homes across the UK, including the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. Repairs are carried out by us or by engineers we appoint.

How we work

What you can expect from us.

You can read every exclusion first

Every exclusion is on one page, in the same size as everything else, before you pay. It’s the same list as in our terms, and if a fault isn’t on it, it’s covered.

One price, nothing on the doorstep

Parts, labour and the callout are in the price of your plan. There’s no limit on how many repairs you can have, and no ceiling on what one can cost.

We’ll tell you when not to buy

Still under warranty, well past its working life, easy for you to pay for yourself, or broken right now: in each of those, we’d rather say so than sell you a plan.

The two-minute fix comes first

If it’s something you can sort in a couple of minutes, like a blocked filter or a tripped switch, we’ll talk you through it instead of booking a visit.

No sales calls

We don’t make marketing calls or send marketing emails, and we don’t pass your details to anyone for marketing.

Clear about our hours

The helpdesk is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. We’re not a 24-hour service.

Why we do it this way

Why the exclusions come first.

Like any plan, ours has things it doesn’t cover. We think you should read them before you pay, not find out when something breaks.

So the list is on its own page, in plain words and the same size as everything else, with a link to it from every page on the site. Our terms are written from the same list.

If the website and the terms ever seem to say different things, tell us. It means we’ve made a mistake, and we’ll fix the words rather than argue about them.

Something to ask before you decide?

If anything is unclear, ring us before you buy and we’ll explain it. There are no customer reviews on this site yet, so here’s what you can check for yourself.
